Colour and Appearance Colour Range: Pale cream to light golden brown, often with a warm honey tone. Grain: Generally straight, with a coarse and open texture that takes stain and polish beautifully. Figure: Can display medullary ray fleck when quarter sawn, giving an attractive, shimmering stripe pattern. Properties and Workability American Oak is strong, stable, and extremely durable when kept out of direct weather exposure. Despite its hardness, it machines, sands, stains, and polishes exceptionally well — making it suitable for a wide range of projects.
